PTG Is Now a CMMC Level 2 Certified MSP

GREENVALE, N.Y. — [DATE], 2026 — The ProActive Technology Group (PTG), a managed IT services provider serving New York City and Long Island for more than 20 years, today announced it has achieved CMMC Level 2 certification under the Department of Defense's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC 2.0) program, following a third-party assessment conducted by an authorized C3PAO.

CMMC Level 2 applies to organizations that store, process or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) on behalf of the Department of Defense. Certification requires the implementation of all 110 security requirements in NIST SP 800-171, verified through assessment rather than self-attestation. Certification is valid for three years and carries an annual affirmation requirement.

For the manufacturers, engineering firms and suppliers in PTG's footprint who sit somewhere in the defense supply chain, the certification changes the math. Rather than assembling compliance from a patchwork of consultants, auditors and generalist IT vendors, they can work with a provider that has been through the assessment itself and can carry the evidence, documentation and control ownership on their behalf.

A dedicated pod, not a shared queue

Alongside the certification, PTG has organized its CMMC work into a dedicated pod: a purpose-built team assigned exclusively to compliance clients rather than absorbed into general support rotation. Each client is supported by:

The structure exists for a practical reason. CMMC environments cannot be maintained casually. Scoping decisions, system security plans, POA&Ms, enclave boundaries and change control all have to be documented continuously, and the people doing that work need continuity with the environment and the client. A rotating help desk cannot produce an audit trail.
